Frisco is a community located in a section
of the North Carolina Outer Banks known as the Cape Hatteras National
Shore in Dare County, on Hatteras Island. between the villages of
Buxton and Hatteras. Frisco was previously named Trent, or Trent
Woods, but received a new name in 1898 with the opening of the post
office.
Most of Frisco is houses that are available for rental during the
summer months and the community's population varies seasonally.
This
is the home of the Frisco Native American Museum and Natural History
Center. The Center contains a nationally recognized collection of
Native American artifacts, exhibits, and natural history, art, and
culture, in a building with a 100 years of history. the Frisco Native
