Hawk North Carolina took its permanently place in the history books in
1903 when the Wright Brothers dispatched a telegraph from Kitty Hawk,
proclaiming the news of the first powered flight. The actual location
of the first flight was some four miles away in what is now known as Kill
Devil Hills but newspapers had picked up the telegraph from Kitty Hawk.
Today, Kitty Hawk North Carolina is one of the largest townships on the Outer Banks. On the oceanside, thousands of rental homes, restaurants and shops are part of the development that has influenced the northern Outer Banks from Nags Head to Corolla.
