The North Carolina Coast can be divided into five main sections
that make up the whole of the North Carolina Atlantic Coast.
Brunswick County Beaches
The Southern most section is the Brunswick County Islands, that
are known as the Brunswick County
Beaches. The southern most is Calabash
North Carolina. Located at the North Carolina State Line. Next
is the island town of Sunset Beach NC.
Next in the line of Brunswick County Beaches is the island town
of Ocean Isle Beach. Continuing
on, Holden Beach is the next island
town. Next is the largest of the Brunswick Island Beaches, Oak
Island. Which includes Long Beach and Caswell
Beach. All the the afore mentioned Brunswick Island Beaches
are separated only by a narrow inlet, but driving time from one
to the next is approximately 30 minuets.
Separated by a little longer distance is the coastal town of Southport
NC, which is a mainland town. Baldhead
Island is the last of the Brunswick Barrier Islands and is accessible
only by ferry from Southport.
